The 1,911-piece set pays tribute to the console , released around the world in 1996, that LEGO says redefined gaming. It has the unmistakable grey silhouette of the original PlayStation unit alongside its very first controller. It was created for adult builders who have nostalgia for their childhood days using the console. It’s a near 1:1 scale replica over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep. The brick-built controller can be plugged into the console while it also has functional “Open” and “Power” buttons A spokesman said every detail has been designed to “capture the ritual and excitement of ‘90s gaming on the original PlayStation console.” Popping open the console reveals hidden, buildable dioramas inspired by two games — 1997s Gran Turismo and Ape Escape from 1999. featuring the game's iconic red or blue monkey helmet. These dioramas can be concealed inside the console or pulled out to be displayed alongside your setup.
